This article describes the current limits applied in PPM Express. These limits help ensure stable performance and a consistent user experience.
These limits apply when entities or items are created or updated through any supported method, including:
- Manually in the PPM Express UI
- Via API
- Via CSV import
- By cloning items
- By importing from external systems or other entities
Entity Limits
The following limits apply per tenant for PPM Express entities:

Project and Sub-Entity Limits
The following limits apply within projects:

| Sub-entities | 300 per entity, per project, per section |
For example, within a single project, users can create up to 300 Key Dates and 300 Risks.
Custom Field Limits

System and out-of-the-box fields are not counted toward the custom field limit.
Date Field Limits
For Start Date, Due Date, Finish Date, and other system, out-of-the-box, or custom Date fields, allowed date values must be within the following range: January 1, 1970 -> December 31, 2100.
The date limit applies to date fields across all entities and sub-entities, including Projects, Portfolios, Ideas, Tasks, external tasks, Key Dates, and others.
Duration Limits
Task duration is limited to a maximum of 10,000 days. This limit applies to both PPM Express tasks and external tasks.
