In this article, we will review the PPM Express Insights page.
PPM Express Insights page allows reviewing all projects that require your attention at the moment. On this page, you can quickly review all items within your projects that are at risk, critical, late, etc. This functionality saves a lot of time and manual work as you do not need to switch between your projects looking for the information that requires your attention, all information is automatically gathered in one place.
Information on the Insights page is updated automatically as soon as users perform any changes to their projects.
Also, the information is updated automatically daily at midnight according to the Tenant timezone settings.
The projects displayed on this page can be filtered out using the Filter option in the right upper part of the page.
There are two prefilters:
- Only Mine option allows displaying only the projects where you are a Manager;
- Favorite option allows displaying projects you visit the most and that are added to Favorites.
And general filters: All, Active projects, On track projects, At-risk projects, Critical projects.
Using this control item, you can also create your own filter presets.
Also, each Project section (Projects at risk, Outdated projects, Projects) has a filtering option on the right, using this option it is possible to filter out the information on the Insights page by the selected project.
There are several sections available on the PPM Insights page. To include the required sections to the page, or remove the unnecessary ones, use the Configure Sections menu on the right.
All sections can be opened in full-screen mode.
Project Summary section shows the Project Summary, Statuses, and projects/items Due this week.
If you click on the item number next to each status on the cards, the items list will be filtered according to the selected value.
Projects at Risk section shows all projects that have at least one project status that is At Risk or Critical.
This section has two views available: Table and Timeline.
Also, using the Configure Columns option you can add or remove the project columns from the list of columns displayed in this section. Any custom column that was added to the Project Dashboard will be available for selection here, after data synchronization.
If you click on any item in the list, you will be redirected to the Project Dashboard of the selected project (or the project where this item is located).
If you click on the Linked Project button next to the project name, you will be redirected to the project in the linked external system (Azure DevOps on the example below).
Attention Required section shows projects and project items that are late or have at-risk/critical statuses.
Ten items that require your attention are displayed in this section, if you would like to see the whole list of items, click the Load 10 More Alerts button.
Using the Urgent Priority button, you can select the most important items to be shown at the top of the list.
Using the Configure Columns option you can decide on the columns included in this section.
You can send a request to PPM Express users to update the selected items from this page directly. Owners of the selected items will receive an email with the list of items that require an update from them. To send the request update, select the items for which you would like to request an update and click on the Request Update button.
Overdue Activities section shows late tasks, key dates, iterations, and late projects.
Using the Configure Columns option you can decide on the columns included in this section.
Due Today section shows key dates, iterations, tasks, and projects that are due today.
Using the Configure Columns option you can decide on the columns included in this section.
Due This Week section shows key dates, iterations, tasks, and projects that are due this week.
Upcoming Activities section shows key dates, iterations, tasks, and projects that are due next week.
Completed Activities section shows key dates, iterations, tasks, and projects that have been completed this week.
Outdated Projects section shows the projects in progress, but not modified for 7 days.
Projects section shows the list of all projects within PPM Express.
This section has two views available: Table and Timeline.
