Presentation Mode in PPM Express offers a clean, focused way to showcase project updates, ideal for stakeholder meetings, executive reviews, and team presentations. Instead of the standard dashboard, users are taken directly to a visually streamlined page, featuring either a Project Story, an embedded Power BI report, or embedded external content, depending on your subscription and configuration.
Availability
Presentation Mode is available on the following plans:
Enterprise: Supports Project Story only.
Enterprise Ultra: Supports both Project Story and the ability to embed external content, such as Power BI reports, etc., via a custom URL.
How to Enable Presentation Mode
PPM Express Administrators can enable Presentation Mode across the tenant. To enable Presentation Mode, perform the following:
1. Open the Tenant Settings.
2. Under Features and Modules, ensure that Presentation Mode is turned ON.
3. Once enabled, Project Story is activated automatically.
Project Story is an AI-powered summary of your project’s status and progress. It automatically compiles updates based on your project data, helping you communicate key information clearly and efficiently.
This is the default content shown in Presentation Mode for all Enterprise and Enterprise Ultra users.
For more details about Project Story, its capabilities and settings, please refer to the Project Story for PPM Express article section.
For Enterprise Ultra tenants, you can customize Presentation Mode to show a live Power BI report instead of the Project Story.
To do this, disable the Project Story feature and then paste the embedded URL into the URL field.
For more details, please refer to this article: How to display the Project dashboard as a Power BI Report.
In the same way, you can embed any other custom content to show in the Presentation Mode of your Projects.
Using Presentation Mode
Once enabled:
Open any project.
Click the ellipsis button on the project dashboard.
Select Presentation Mode.
The project will open in a streamlined view, displaying either the Project Story, embedded Power BI report, or custom embedded content based on your configuration.
Project Managers and users with edit access can adjust Project Story content directly within this mode. For more details, please refer to the Project Story setup and features article.
To exit, click Leave Presentation Mode in the upper-right corner.
User Access & Settings
Each user can choose whether to open projects in Presentation Mode by default:
Go to My Account → Presentation Mode setting.
Enable or disable the option.
Administrators can set this preference for users via:
People Management → Personal Settings
If a user has View or Collaborate permissions for a project, the project will automatically open in Presentation Mode (if the feature is enabled).
However, if the user has Edit permissions, the Project dashboard will open by default — regardless of the Presentation Mode setting.
