How to Create and Manage Portfolios

Portfolios in PPM Express allow users to organize and manage their Projects and Programs efficiently. A Portfolio can contain multiple Projects and Programs, offering a centralized view of all related initiatives. 


With PPM Express, you can:

  • Create and manage Portfolios.

  • Add existing Projects and Programs to Portfolios.

  • Create new Projects and Programs directly from the Portfolio dashboard.

Once you open the Portfolios page, you will see sample Portfolios added for your convenience to review how everything works. The Portfolios page is built similarly to the Projects and Programs ones. 


Creating a Portfolio

To create a Portfolio in PPM Express, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Portfolio page and click New.

  2. Enter a name for your new Portfolio.

  3. Under Advanced Options, select the required layout to apply to the Portfolio.

  4. Enable the Create Project Filter option to automatically filter Projects by the Portfolio.

  5. Click Create Portfolio to finalize the process and access the Portfolio dashboard.

Multiple managers can be assigned to a Portfolio by updating the Manager field in the Portfolio dashboard under the Details section.


Adding a Project or Program to a Portfolio

To add a Project or Program to a Portfolio:

  1. Open the Portfolio dashboard and navigate to the Programs & Projects section.

  2. Click the Add (Projects/Programs) button to access the selection menu.

  3. Choose from existing Projects or Programs and click Done.

  4. Alternatively, click Create (Project/Program) to establish a new Project or Program within the Portfolio.

A single Project or Program can belong to multiple Portfolios.

When the Projects and Programs are added, you can add information to multiple Portfolio sections. 


By leveraging Portfolios in PPM Express, users can efficiently oversee multiple Projects and Programs, enhance collaboration, and streamline portfolio management.
