How to change PPM Express account owner

In this article, we will review the case when PPM Express account owner (the user who logged in to PPM Express for the first time and registered PPM Express tenant) needs to be changed to a different one. 

PPM Express tenant will be registered once the first user from your Office 365 tenant/GSuite or personal Google account signs up to PPM Express. Such user is granted with Administrate app permissions by default (Tenant Administrator), and receives access to all components and features provided in PPM Express. This user can grant Administrate app permissions to other users if required. However, the user who registered PPM Express tenant provided the details during registration: Company name, email, phone, etc. and this information cannot be changed in PPM Express directly.  

There are two ways to change PPM Express account owner:

  1. Change the account owner directly in PPM Express;
  2. Contact PPM Express Team and request to change the account owner. 


Changing the account owner in PPM Express directly

If you would like to change the PPM Express account owner for a different one, it is possible to do so by adding the required account to PPM Express and granting it “Administrate app” permissions. You can provide a user with Administrate app permissions either via Invite People option for new users or via People Management menu for existing users.

If you would like to change the owner of your account, please perform the following:

  1. Log in to PPM Express with the new account with Administrate app permissions;
  2. Open People Management page;
  3. Open the account owner profile for editing;
  4. Uncheck Administrate app permissions check-box;
  5. Save the changes and deactivate the unnecessary account, if needed. 

Even if you deactivate the account owner on the People Management page, the contact details provided while registering PPM Express tenant (company name, contact person name, business email, phone number) will remain unchanged and will be used for PPM Express email notifications. If you would like to change contact details as well and change the email where the notifications about upcoming releases, new features, etc. will be sent, please send us an email at support@ppm.express. Please include the name, business email address and phone number of the new contact person.


Contact PPM Express Team and request to change the account owner

If the current account owner is no longer with your company or not available and there are no more users with Administrate app permissions within your tenant, you will not be able to provide a different user account with Administrate app permission on your side. 

In this case, you can request to change the account owner and the PPM Express Team will change it per your request, taking security measures. 

To request the change of the account owner, please perform the following: 

Submit a written request to support@ppm.express, in the form of a PDF file, including:

  • The name, business email address and business phone number of a current account owner (the account name that was used to sign up to PPM Express for the first time and register PPM Express tenant);
  • The name, business email address and business phone number of a new account owner;
  • The name, business email address and phone number for PPM Express notifications (in case you would like notifications to be sent not to a new account owner, but to a different email).


Delete

Note: The information should be sent to support@ppm.express as a PDF file in a letter from an email address in the company's domain, on your company letterhead, signed by a manager of your organization (preferably by a person who has purchased a paid PPM Express license and has previously signed a sales order). If your company doesn't have a letterhead, please be sure to include your company's mailing address and phone number to your request.

Transferring the account ownership on a free license

If you are using PPM Express on a free license and would like to change the account owner or provide other users with Administrate app permissions but your current account owner is not available anymore, PPM Express Team can assist you in transferring account ownership following a quick security procedure.

To request the change of the account owner, please perform the following:

Submit a written request to support@ppm.express including:

  • The name, business email address and business phone number of the current account owner (the account name that was used to sign up to PPM Express for the first time);
  • The name, business email address and business phone number of a new account owner;
  • The name, business email address and business phone number for PPM Express notifications (in case you would like notifications to be sent not to a new account owner, but to a different email); 


Delete

Note: The information should be sent to support@ppm.express in a letter from an email address in the company's domain. 


Since you are on a free license PPM Express Team will send an email to the original account owner first to verify if this account is still available in your organization and to confirm the account ownership transfer. If we do not receive a reply within 24 hours or receive an email that this account has been disabled in your organization, we will proceed with the request and transfer the account ownership using the information provided in the email. 

 

Changing Billing Details

If you would like to change billing details, there are two options available.

A user with the Administrate app or Manage Billing permissions can change Billing Details directly in PPM Express. On the Billing Settings page, click “Manage” and then choose the Account Information menu. On the next page, it will be possible to change the first name, last name, and email and update the subscription account details.

If you are on the Projects Unlimited/Enterprise/Enterprise Ultra plans, use the Contact Us button instead. 

If a user with Administrate app permissions is no longer with your company or not available and you cannot provide a different user with “Manage Billing” permissions on your side, the PPM Express Team can change billing details of your subscription account per your request. For this, you will need to submit a written request to support@ppm.express,  including:

  • The name, business email address and business phone number of the current subscription account owner (the account name that was used to sign up to PPM Express for the first time and register PPM Express tenant)
  • The name, business email address and business phone number of a new subscription account owner.
